So…what’s this all about i hear you ask. Well there is no better place to start then at the beginning.

My name’s Miroslav (i’m also known as Mick or SplaTT) and i was born in the city of Melbourne in Australia in 1970…and i like wearing hats, and by hats i don’t mean caps…i mean felt hats like Fedora’s.

I also have a bit of a soft spot for the music, books, clothing, architecture, vehicles and generally most design related things from what is referred to as “The Golden Era”, which are the years between the 1930’s and the 1940’s…though the 1920’s and 1950’s aren’t too bad either.

This particular site (i have a couple of other ones which will no doubt get cross-linked here at some point) will cover the things i find interesting from the Golden Era, as well as acting as an outlet for links to other sites i find on the web that cover the same period.

The updates will be sporadic, but I hope you find them useful…and importantly, convince you to go out and buy a hat.
